Fall has arrived in full regalia to Charlevoix, Michigan. The rolling hills are blanketed in golds, reds, and oranges, and glow in the afternoon sun…when it’s not raining…which is half of the time. We spent the week with both sets of my parents, my dad and Diane, my mom and Denny. Hiking, biking, kayaking, eating amazing food. We visited good friends, slept in late, and quickly acclimatized to the chilly temperatures. I always visit Charelvoix in the summer or at Christmas, I haven’t been to Northern Michigan in the fall since grad school. The leaf colors are spectacular, nothing compares.
At the end of the week, Felix flew back to Germany. Sad times! He’s going back to work for a few months. We’ll meet again in a few months in Panama for the sailing trip.
Before he left, we put Ralfie up for sale: http://nmi.craigslist.org/cto/4705473481.html Even sadder times! Our trip together has been magical. Hopefully nobody wants to buy him, so we’ll have to keep him forever.
There is some exciting news, though: Pete and Miranda bought their boat! It is a Lagoona 3800 catamaran, a real beauty. They’ve moved onto it and are feverishly making preparations to sail. http://errantries.com/2014/09/19/we-found-a-boat/
OMG! Is that a photo of Ms. Tippy??? I’ve been dying to meet her!
